Baltcon Award
Baltcon AwardStatuteThe Baltcon Prize to Best Promoter of Baltic Science Fiction & Fantasy is awarded annually at the Baltcon Convent and is given for excellence I n the field of translations from the languages of the Baltic Sea Region. The Award is given to a translator. The Award has three degrees. StatuteEvery translation from the languages of the Baltic Sea region to any other language can be selected as nominee for the Baltcon Award. The translation must be published during the three preceding calendar years before the current Baltcon Convent. Nominations are conducted by the National Baltcon Committees. Each National Committee is allowed to select 5 nominees. Different translations of one and the same translations can be nominated. All nominations are equally weighted. Nominations shall be submitted to the Council of Baltcon, which provides a general list of nominations. The list of nominations shall be distributed by the Council of Baltcon to the National Committees as soon as the month before the day of the Convent StatuteThe Award voting shall be at the Baltcon Convent only by the representatives of the National Committees, Council of Baltcon and Steering Committee of the current Convent. The voting shall to be held by the Australian system: the First Degree must have three ballots, the Second Degree must have two ballots and the Third Degree must have one ballot. All ballots have the equal weight. The Absentee Voting is allowed for the National Committees. The Absentee Voting shall be completed as soon as three days before the commencement of the Baltcon Convent. The ballots shall be collected by the Council of Baltcon and announced conjointly with the results of the intramural voting. No voting by proxy is allowed.
Current Situation Only: In 2009 the Nomination List from every country includes for the first effort 10 nominees instead of the proposed 5.
